About us

The map above shows our area of operation - we can only help people who live in the East Riding villages of Humbleton, Flinton and Fitling.  The reason for this is that over 300 years ago, a benevolent local farmer called Francis Heron set up a Trust and left money for the education and welfare of local children in this area.

The Trust is still going strong and is run entirely by volunteers, so none of the money that we have goes on wages, dividends or shareholders.  Instead, we use the money that we generate from renting our properties to help local children and young people get the best out of all key educational stages (including university and apprenticeships).

We aim to provide every local child with a fixed bursary which can be used to help with the costs of uniform, transport, extra tuition, music/sports equipment and pretty much anything else that you need to help your children get the most out of their education

As well as providing a fixed amount as a bursary to every local child we can also provide additional discretionary funds to those with extra needs.

Take a look at our 'Bursaries & Grants (incl Application Form)' section for more details on how to apply

As well as helping young people, we also contribute to the life of our villages in other ways - for example, we own the Playing Field and 6 houses in Humbleton.  If you want to know more about us, please look through the rest of this website - get in contact if you think that we can help you or that you can help us (we're always looking for bright ideas or volunteers) - our details are at the bottom of this page and in the Contacts section
